Instruments (VACCINES)

❖ We adapt and inject 3 instruments for immunising our citizens against dis/misinformation.

   ❖ VACCINE 1. Digital literacy: We provide our audience familiarity with internet-related terms and attitudes toward technology, and knowledge about how social media platforms decide which stories to show them. We will provide information on how personal data is being obtained and used in micro-targeting (influence operations targeting individuals using AI and big data on social media, by cookies) in an attempt to affect decision making.

   ❖ VACCINE 2. Media literacy: We educate our audiences on how to critically read media, and to understand how the information can be used to manipulate our perception and behaviour. Information that reaches us has always involved decisions on what to show and what to leave out, and in our campaign we will make our audiences aware that the reality is always more complex than the story that we hear. Moreover, false information is being repeated on multiple channels to make it seem more credible, and making it hard to make the distinction between true and false.

   ❖ VACCINE 3. Critical thinking: We uncover disinformation narratives that have previously been used with an attempt to influence elections in the participating countries or European elections. We expose the tools, techniques and motives behind these disinformation campaigns.
